United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates commonly known by the acronym UAE, is a country located on the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula in the Persian Gulf, on the border with Oman to the east, with Saudi Arabia to the south, sharing maritime borders with Qatar, Iran and Pakistan .
Founded on December 2, 1971, the country is a federation of seven emirates (equivalent to principalities).
Each emirate is governed by an emir who together form the Supreme Federal Council, which is the highest legislative and executive organ in the country.
