Located at 2,750 meters above sea level, it is one of the largest urban centers in ancient Peru, belonging to the Wari culture, which flourished between the 6th and 11th centuries AD. It occupies an area of approximately 2,200 ha, although the main buildings are in the central nucleus.
22 km north of the city of Ayacucho (30 minutes by car).
The complex is divided into ´´barrios´´ or sectors made up of stone and clay constructions covered with a fine plaster, mostly painted in red and white and has an underground water and drainage system. The place has a museum on site with objects found in the area.
