In front of the temple, in the lower part a few meters from the river there are vaulted rooms that were used as bedrooms for priests of that time, it is also believed that they were used as torture rooms for those indigenous people who opposed the be evangelized or were accused of engaging in worship practices that were negative for the interests of the Catholic religion.
In one of the rooms you can see an underground entrance to the temple, according to stories and stories there are corridors distributed throughout the area. In its interior all the priests, nuns and ecclesiastical of the time are buried.
In front of the church, in the city of Torata, in what is now the police headquarters, are the catacombs dating from the 16th century.
Made of polished granite stone and lime mortar, these vaulted structures were part of the tunnel that communicated with the church, which are currently closed.
