This sector began in 1802, due to the tasks performed during the construction of the San Carlos canal, whose mouth rises on the Maipo River.
In this place, part of its inhabitants are masons, who carve mortars from plates to grind garlic and prepare the typical 'Chancho in Piedra', which serves as a sauce for different Creole foods.
It is located 29 km. from Santiago and 14 km. from San Jose de Maipo, Cajon del Maipo.
Cajon del Maipo is located one hour from Santiago.
Site of experienced masons, who bring to life the stones in the sector with a very particular artistic touch, you can also find one of the region's vines.
