Juan Montalvo House and Mausoleum is located in the city of Ambato, is one of the main tourist attractions of the city and heritage of Ecuador, because here is born the greatest Latin American writer of the nineteenth century.

The museum opened its doors in 1988 as a public institution with the aim of publicizing and promoting the life and work of Juan Montalvo. Inside you find a mausoleum that resembles a Greek altar, where the remains of the illustrious writer are.
