Documentation
The necessary documentation for travel to Germany varies according to the country of origin.
For citizens of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein it is sufficient to have a valid passport or photo ID card.
Being from another country other than those listed above, the maximum stay in Germany is 90 days.
There are countries whose citizens are required to have a valid tourist visa in order to enter Germany.
Citizens of those countries may also travel to Germany if they have a residence permit or a long-stay visa issued by another EU country (with the exception of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein.
Citizens of all other countries must be in possession of documents justifying the purpose and conditions of their stay as well as sufficient financial resources for their stay during the period they intend to stay in Germany.
The documents that are needed to present vary according to the reason for the trip.
Taking into account the various conditions required for entry into Germany, it is suggested that you contact the German Embassy or Consulate in the visitor's country of residence to check these requirements before you begin your journey.
Tourism
Germany is a country where there is plenty of animation, beautiful scenery, history and culture. The Munich Oktoberfest is a veritable ode to beer and life, concerts by Bach and Beethoven exemplify human genius, while buildings such as Neuschwanstein Castle near Füssen and Cologne Cathedral show a little of the history of this nation that is one of the pillars of the European Union. When mapping out the cities to be visited, you can choose from everything from the small and charming Rothenburg and Heidelberg to large metropolises such as Berlin pulsating with a lively cultural life, nightlife and shops with designer products. The country's transport system is impeccable, with trains, buses, roads and modern airports. The tourist infrastructure has well-maintained hotels and restaurants and trained teams in a hurry. English is considered as a second language, which makes life easier for tourists. Germany is an easy and beautiful destination. So, instead of using the gigantic Frankfurt airport just as your gateway to Europe, use it as the beginning of your journey through this incredible country.
Gastronomy
Germany is a country of diversities, both in beer brands - more than five thousand from the North Sea to the Alps - and in the dialect and temperament of its residents, which vary by region. What many people still do not know is that this heterogeneity is also present in cooking.
German gastronomy goes far beyond sauerkraut, "cucas" (from the German word Kuchen, cake) and sausages accompanied by the most different types of mustard. Each region has its own specialties, prepared from the available resources.
Authentic and traditional cuisine
Apart from pork and potatoes, which are more often consumed as cheap and easily accessible products all year round, there are many others that are part of the everyday life of the Germans and which make the cuisine of the country authentic and traditional.
After the pig, the most consumed meats are chicken, veal, cattle, wild boar and deer - the last two, usually from hunting. There are also varieties of meatballs, potatoes and flour (Knödel), not to mention the types of pasta Spätzle and Schupfnudeln served as accompaniment.
Cheese and butter are also part of everyday food.

The typical dishes of each region reveal a lot about the living habits of its residents.
Weather
The climate is temperate and maritime; the winters and the summers cool, misty and damp; occasional wind Föhn, warm.
The weather is sometimes unpredictable. At the pin of summer, one day can be hot and sunny and the next day cold and rainy. However, truly extreme weather conditions, such as severe droughts, tornadoes, hail storms, extreme cold or heat, etc., are extremely rare.
Much of Germany has a temperate climate in which the humid western winds prevail. The climate is tempered by the North Atlantic Current, which is the northern extension of the Gulf Stream. The warm waters brought by this current affect the coastal areas of the North Sea including the Jutland peninsula and the area along the Rhine that runs towards the North Sea. Consequently in the northwest and in the north, the climate is oceanic; rains occur throughout the year and the peak occurs in the summer. Winters are mild and summers cool, although temperatures can exceed 30 ° C for extended periods. In the east, the climate is more continental; the winters can be very strict, the summers very hot, and long periods of drought have already been recorded. Central and southern Germany are transition regions that range from moderate to continental ocean climates. The maximum temperature can also exceed 30 ° C in summer.
Safety
The safety conditions are generally good. However, in large urban centers it is advisable to observe the usual precautions against theft, particularly in crowded situations and in public transport (in particular railway stations and airports), as well as in terraces and commercial spaces.
Health
No preventive measures are required. Germany has a good and extensive network of health and hospital facilities.
It will be prudent to subscribe for insurance covering the care that is not covered by the European Health Insurance Card and the possible costs of health repatriation. The possession of the European Health Insurance Card guarantees travelers the urgent treatment of the medical acts in a public network establishment immediately necessary in case of sudden illness, accident or maternity.
Telecommunications and Electricity
Mobile Phones
The use of mobile devices can be used if roaming has taken place, however, paying attention to very high roaming charges.

Internet
Germany is well served by internet services, there are several cybers-cafes with high-speed connections.
In case you have a laptop or notebook, there are numerous cafes that offer the free wi-fi connection.

Electricity
The electricity is 220 Volt 50 Hz.
It is advisable to have an adapter kit for the sockets.
