Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is a luxury resort located six kilometers south of Marbella, which was built by José Banus in 1970.
The resort began as a marina with a shopping complex and has become one of the largest entertainment centers on the Costa del Sol.
The nearest airport is Malaga International Airport which is 60 km or 40 miles away.
To the north of the resort of Puerto Banus is the famous resort of Marbella, while to the south are the resorts of San Pedro de Alcantara and Estepona.
Puerto Banus is a popular tourist resort attracting close to five million tourists annually, most of which come from north - Europe, especially from the UK, as well as the very rich from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Puerto Banus is a resort to see and be seen and mix with the extremely rich.
Tourism
Puerto Banus is located in the heart of the Costa del Golf with an abundance of golf courses and an internationally renowned marina.
Surrounded by exclusive housing estates, this famous marina hosts some of the largest and most luxurious yachts in the world. Its facilities also offer a select leisure area formed by restaurants, shops and shops that sell the great international luxury articles.
Puerto Banus has four main beaches which are Artola Beach, Nueva Andalucia Beach, Rio Verde and El Ancon Beach Beach.
Puerto Banus is also the resort to visit for anyone wishing to experience the famous beach culture club on the Costa del Sol of the Ocean Club, La Sala Beach Club which was until recently very unknown, such as the Buddha Beach Club, Mistral Beach Club and Alma Beach.
There are also some chiringuitos to enjoy a good variety of meals, snacks and drinks, such as La Pesquera, Azucar Beach, Aurora Beach, Levante Beach Plaza Beach, Astral and Pedro Beach.
Gastronomy
When talking about gastronomy in Puerto Banus we are, of course, talking about Andalusian cuisine, but the clear cosmopolitan influence in this area means that you will find many restaurants offering food from around the world.
Typical food on the Costa del Sol combines with other types of cuisine, so dishes are found on the menus, but always linked to traditional Andalusian cuisine such as gazpacho and white garlic, lollipops, shrimp, salads all washed down with fine wines and local beers.
Weather
In Puerto Banus, the climate corresponds to the microclimate of Marbella, a climate with pleasant temperatures, ideal to go to the beach, to walk, an ideal climate to practice outdoor activities.
Puerto Banus enjoys a benevolent climate, like the whole city of Marbella.
Winters are mild with low rainfall, while the rest of the year is dry and characterized by intense heat.
This is clearly a Mediterranean climate, but has some peculiarities that distinguish it from the rest of the Costa del Sol and the province of Malaga.
In particular, the climate of Puerto Banus can be classified as Mediterranean subtropical, while the rest of the province of Malaga is closer to the definitions of Continental and Mediterranean Mediterranean Sea climate.
