Winter sports fans can hire skis or sleighs locally, and go cross-country skiing along officially designated ski-runs, or visit the local Skiing and Local History Museum.
We also recommend a trip to the UNESCO world heritage site of Quedlinburg with its many unique half-timbered buildings. You can visit the St Servatius collegiate church and the world-famous castle with its treasures. Many quaint galleries and exhibitions are housed in the half-timbered buildings, and there is also a museum dedicated to the 18th century German poet Klopstock.
