After extensive restoration and management work, the Dräi Eechelen Museum opened its doors to the public on July 13, 2012. The museum building, the former Thüngen Reduced, is itself a major part of the permanent exhibition. With the system of underground galleries and mines, it is still largely preserved in the original state of its last construction phase of 1836/37. The permanent exhibition on the ground floor is devoted to the history of the fortress and the country. Structured chronologically, it is the subject of the importance for Luxembourg, the issues of justice and the consequences for the people who pay the pay. The exhibition shows some 700 original objects and documents, largely still unknown. The multimedia space offer joins a group of donors and documentaries who help to validate certain important appreciations for the previous casemates. The film "Luxembourg 4 D" is screened in the auditorium, making the link between the permanent exhibition and the first temporary exhibition "iLux. Identities in Luxembourg ”. Both performed by the University of Luxembourg.
