The Irineu Evangelista de Sousa Railway Museum (Barão de Mauá) was inaugurated on March 9, 1979 to be a reference and preservation center on the material supports of memory and the history of the railway of the city of Jundiaí. However, after its restoration, it was reopened with new museological bases, on May 14, 1995, calling itself the Museu da Companhia Paulista.



In this way, the Museum portrays the city of Jundiaí as the cradle of the railroad, since Cia. Paulista de Railways was the gateway to the social, economic and political development of the city and the entire interior of São Paulo.



Museum Activities

Assistance to the general public, public, municipal, private, universities and colleges, developing a work to rescue the railway memory, focusing its importance on the development of the economy and progress of coffee farming in the State of São Paulo. Enriching the pedagogical action through music (nostalgia and classical), where the student associates the sound with the image of the train, providing extremely pleasurable learning moments.
