A private house with a large garden overlooked by the scenic church at the heart of the unspoilt traditional village of Deutsch Griffen. 9km from the uncrowded pistes of the family resort of Hochrindl in winter and between the mountains and the Carinthian swimming lakes in the summer.The accomodation is spread over the 1st and 2nd floor of the house (the owner has an appartment on the ground floor.which is only used when the house is empty. so you have full privacy). Simply furnished. with wood throughout. there are two kitchen diners (so you can choose which to use as a living room) and a bathroom on each floor. Perfect for two familes or a large family group.House Church View is set in the Gurktal-Hochrindl area of southern Austria. Winter sports can be found in Hochrindl. a quiet friendly family resort. just 9 km up the road. with a skibus service at peak times. Flattnitz. Gerlitzen and the large area of Bad Kleinkirchheim are all withing 30 minutes drive. The usual winter sports activities are to be found in these areas well supplied with ski-lifts. Gasthaus/resturants and excellent ski-runs and ski-schools.In the spring. summer and autumn a visit can be also made to Maltatal Valley and the Hochalm strasse for spectacular high-alpine scenery and the massive Kolbreinsperre Dam project at its end. Drivers will love the Nockalm Toll road or Kärnter Panorama strasse.In the summer you can walk in the Gurktal nature reserve or ride on the summer toboggan run. Take a ride on the Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn or swim in the many warm clean water lakes within a 30 minute drive. There are the Goggausee. Flatschacher see. Milstatter see and the Ossachier see. further away. only a 45 minute drive is the Worthers see where a visit can be made to the model world of Minimundus and its nearby reptile zoo.A visit to the Cathedral Church of Gurk is in the nearby area as are many other interesting and ancient churches as well as the Roman site of Magdalensburg and the celtic village of Froeg Rosegg.There are many imposing castles such as Burg Hochosterwitz where can be seen examples of armour and a bronze altar from 1580. Or visit Castle Landskron near Villach and also walk with the monkey families in the reserve at its foot. You can also visit Alpen Wild park and Grizzle world at Feld am See.For more information on the many things to do in the area go to the Gemeinde a 3 minute walk from the house and perhaps buy a Kärnten Card which gives free access or reduced prices to the participating attractions.
