Located at the opposite end of the Misericórdia Church, on Rua do Salvador, it occupies an old seventeenth-century palace that belonged to the local painter Carlos Reis.
It has three major museological centers - archeology, sacred art and painting -, highlighting some pieces from the Roman villa of Cardílio, paintings by Malhoa and a dagger (dagger) of the Bronze Age, considered the best in the country.
