It is a "Step" made by António Nobre in 1675, depicting one of the episodes of the Passion of Christ from condemnation to death on Calvary.
These "Steps" or small chapels served as a place of worship for Catholics who traveled along the sacred road, nine "Steps", as a symbol of Jesus' suffering.
