It has a hexagonal shape, covered by a dome in orange halves topped by a lantern, with its surrounding cimhae, with its scattered wedges marking the six faces. It is preceded by several flights of stairs.
The House of Water is located in Cape Espichel county of Sesimbra, parish of Castelo, District of Setúbal. It was built in 1770 on the initiative of the king D. José I, who in that year there went to pilgrimage.
The Water House received the water brought by aqueduct from Azóia, the nearest village, for an extension of approximately 2.5 kilometers. He had a well and two tanks to feed the animals.
