The dissident foreign community organized in 1847 to legitimize their religion, since until then they did not have a law that endorsed the construction of non-Catholic temples, being forced to celebrate their cults in private places. In 1865, the new law allowing the celebration of non-Catholic cults.
It is a picturesque building with lines of British inspiration and that constitutes a characteristic reason of the center of Valparaiso.
