Tortugal is located on the shores of the Rio Dulce midway between Castillo San Felipe and the Bridge, about 3 km from Lake Izabal and about 5 minutes by boat from the village of Fronteras. The restaurant overlooks the river and offers panoramic views.
All rooms have views of either the river or the jungle. Each room has either a private bathroom, or a shared bathroom. Certain units have a seating area where you can relax. Rooms are kept cool with overhead fans and thick native roofs. Tortugal features free WiFi in the restaurant.
The property offers free kayaks, television and an elevate jungle walkway through a mangrove forest. Guests can also walk to town or to Castillo San Felipe from Tortugal or swim in the river to a floating sunbathing platform. The Restaurant at Tortugal features homemade food, including vegetarian options. Free shuttle by boat is offered from the Municipal dock in Rio Dulce, Fronteras or at Doña Aracely´s private parking lot on the El Relleno side of the bridge.
Tortugal offers boat shuttle pick up from the Municipal dock or Super 24 on the El Relleno side of the bridge, which offers parking for Tortugal guests.
