Set in the Retezat Mountains at 800 metres above sea level, Pension Iris offers a private beach area at the Mare-Retezat riverbank. The rooms are located in the attic and overlook the mountains.

The restaurant serves traditional Romanian cuisine and some international dishes. Several outdoor terraces with barbecue facilities and picnic spaces as well as a children's playground are provided.

There is a games room with board games and 2 lounge areas with seating opportunites and TVs.

The Iris is 500 metres away from the entrance to the Retezat National Reserve and 10 km from the Gura Apei-Retezat Dam. Subcetate Train Station can be reached in 35 km.
