The town of Brotterode is in the Thuringian Forest, situated at the foot of the Grosser Inselsberg and on one of Germanys most famous hiking trails the Rennsteig ridgeway.

The accommodation has an open plan kitchen, a living/dining room and a WC on the ground floor, whilst on the 1st floor there are two bedroom, one double, one single and a bathroom

It is equipped with electric heating, table tennis, it has a private furnished garden and a private garage.

A well-marked network of hiking trails totaling more than 350 is available in the region. Other popular excursion destinations include Eisenach with Wartburg Castle and the city of Weimar.
